Green Tall Pitcher

greentallpitcher.jpg

In period the term "jug" was often used both for what we today call pitchers or mugs. They were used for storing, serving, and drinking. This pitcher has spout pulled from the rim and is glazed in the green of the #2 Baluster mug. For this I chose surface decoration of wheat, a design often used in period ceramics. Interior capacity for pitcher/jugs ranges from 1 cup up to 1 gallon. This one is 2 quarts.
